Starter Motor On-going Problem

With the new starter motor now installed and working we were surprised to find we were intermittently having problems with the starter not being activated when pressing the start button.

It seemed to be an electrical connection problem. Isaac checked the wiring and replaced the relays. He also installed an emergency start button for our peace of mind while he continues to track down the intermittent fault.

Update – June 2026

We continued to have intermittent problems with the start button not activating the starter motor:

After further diagnostic checking Isaac suggested it may be the actual pushbutton switch that was the problem. A new AZ011 was ordered from Nanni:

It eventually arrived (I think it came by ship from France…) and installed by Isaac. Great news. The problem has now been solved. Well done Isaac!

EPIRB Replacement

The old EPIRB reached its 10-year end of life. A new GME MT605G was bought from Barton Marine, installed, tested, and registered with beacons.org.nz.
