Replace Solar Panel
The old solar panel suddenly stopped working. It was five years old so I guess that’s about par for the course for semi flexible panels in a marine environment. Replaced with the same model from Jaycar: Powertech 100W.

Quickslip – Repair Pulpit and Stanchion
21 May 2025 – I motored Halo round to the Evans Bay slipway. I contracted Victor Crooks to straighten and re-weld parts of the pulpit and the bent stanchion.
I also cleaned the hull and replaced the Zinc Anode.

Replace VSR
Since our trip to Nelson in January I have noticed that the VSR was intermittently not engaging.
The VSR (Voltage Sensitive Relay) allows the start battery and the house bank to be paralleled and charged from the alternator at the same time. When the engine is started and the start battery reaches 13.7 volts, the VSR engages.
I decided to replace it and purchased a new BEP Digital model. This also has the extra feature of disengaging the VSR when the ignition is tuned off.
