Early start this morning to get Halo‘s hull cleaned before the Wellington Classic race today. I cast off from Chaffers at 0830 hrs. A beautiful clear morning as I motored out towards Evans Bay.
On the way I stopped to check out the amazing super yacht which had recently arrived in Wellington Harbour. Kamaxitha is a beautiful 49 meter (160 feet) luxury ketch. Quite a sight.

Sven was on the Evans Bay travel lift ready for our ‘quickslip’.

I carefully edged Halo on to the strops and then Sven hauled us out of the water. The hull was fairly dirty which was to be expected since the last bottom clean in November. The zinc anode on the prop shaft still had plenty of life in it. The only concern was some fishing line wound around the prop.

Jenny and her friend Shalini came round to say hello while Isabelle and Janya were out sailing on the Optimists.

Halo all cleaned up and looking spic and span. Thanks Sven for your help.

I then motored Halo back to Chaffers to await the crew to join me for the day’s big event.
