Crew: Geoff, Graciela, Jenny, Isabelle, Max, Hugo.
Today: Northerly 10 knots, turning southerly 10 knots for a time in the afternoon and early evening. LW 0956 hrs.
Lovely warm morning as we cast off from Chaffers at 1045 hrs and hoisted the mainsail and No. 2 Jib. Jenny did a great job on helm as we tacked our way out of Lambton Harbour. The light winds were perfect for a comfortable sail with the kids on board.

Once we rounded Pt. Halswell we saw that the Kau Bay club mooring was unoccupied so decided to tie up there.
We picked up the mooring at 1136 hrs. I pumped up the dinghy and then Graciela, Isabelle and Max and I all had fun jumping in the sea for a swim.
Isabelle was keen to learn how to row the dinghy and after a short instruction from Grandpa she quickly picked up the technique. A natural!

After lunch (using our new cockpit table) we cast off from the mooring at 1400 hours. The wind had dropped off so we motor sailed back to Chaffers with Isabelle and Max both taking turns helming. We docked Halo back in our berth at 1436 hrs.

A lovely day out with the family on beautiful Wellington Harbour and great to share in Isabelle and Max’s growing enthusiasm for sailing!
