Marine Forecast: Variable 5 knots. Northerly 10 knots developing in the afternoon.
Left Chaffers Marina at 1144 hrs. Hoisted mainsail and No.1 LT Genoa and sailed on a port tack with Lee on the helm across to Point Halswell at around 6 kts. Graciela spotted some nice blue penguins!
Did a couple of tacks around the harbour trying to keep out of the path of the RPNYC race before arriving at Kau Bay where we tied up at the club mooring for lunch at 1300 hrs.
After a relaxing lunch we headed north across the harbour on a starboard tack towards Ngauranga Gorge until turned back to Wellington with a tail wind of about 10 kts arriving at Chaffers at 1459 hrs.
