Marine Forecast: Northwest 20 knots gusting 30 knots, easing to 15 knots this morning, then turning southerly 10 knots early afternoon.
Departed Chaffers Marina at 1030 hrs and hoisted Main and No. 3 Genoa. With about with 10 kts southerly we progressed East towards Ward Island with speed picking up to 6 kts once we cleared Point Halswell. Arrived at Ward Island and picked up the mooring at 1133 hrs.
After morning tea and bird watching we sailed off the mooring at 1217 and sailed at a close reach towards Lambton Harbour. Put out the fishing line (with no expectations) but to my surprise we caught a nice big Kahawai.
Arrived back at 1315 hrs. Grant showed me how to fillet the fish. See stop-motion video below.
