Crew: Geoff, Graciela and Stu.
Marine forecast: Northerly 10 knots, changing southerly 10 knots for a time this evening. Sea slight. Mainly fine.
Late afternoon sailing leaving marina about 4pm. Sailed out towards Ward Island with a nice Northerly breeze with the mainsail and no. 3 jib. Put the anchor down on southwest side of island for a cuppa. On the return we experienced a sudden turn of wind to southerly. Sailed in to Oriental bay where we put the anchor down and enjoyed Graciela’s yummy quiche and a cold drink before motoring back into the marina for a “text book” entry into the berth at 7pm in the dusk with the nav and steaming lights on.
Stu brought his fishing rod with a spinner but no luck except getting the line caught on something (possibly the prop) when we forget to bring it in – lesson learned!
