Beautiful day sailing in the harbour with Peter, Caroline and Graciela.
10 knot southerly winds, clear skies, calm sea.
Used Genoa 1 and Mainsail and sailed to Matiu/Somes Island. Put anchor down and had a swim and afternoon tea. Cleaned the outside of the hull with cloth and noticed the flange had fallen off and water had been getting into the stern locker. Peter and I bailed out the locker and did a temporary repair to the flange.
On return there was no wind at all so had to motor home. After a while suddenly noticed cabin was filling with smoke and fumes. Checked the engine but no visible problems. Later inspection by Travis on Monday revealed a leaking exhaust pipe. Will be repaired this week.
